Many people have to deal with the inconvenience of shopping outside regular business hours. Whether it’s to grab essentials, pick up medicines, or dine out. It can be frustrating when everything’s closed, especially for shift workers. If you’re dealing with the same, then you’re likely asking, “Where are the 24-hour stores near me?”
Luckily, there are enough stores open 24/7 in your area to provide you with whatever you need at whatever time you need it. It’s equally beneficial for the stores to remain open throughout the night, especially in highly populated urban areas where a lot of people are out and about.
Most stores have a ‘find a location’ feature on their website which makes finding 24-hour stores nearby easier. Google Maps also provides a full listing of store locations along with store hours. Although the store hours listed online are not always accurate so it’s better to call ahead to avoid a wasted trip.

For drugs and medications, you don’t necessarily need to visit a pharmacy or drug store unless you have a prescription. Many grocery stores and supermarkets carry basic medicinal needs for emergencies.

It should be noted that not all locations of a grocery/supermarket chain operate at the same hours. One location could be open 24 hours while another location 7 minutes down the road could close at 10 pm. Again, do a quick check to make sure the location that you’re headed to is the right one.
Safeway: American Supermarket Chain
There are currently 910 Safeway supermarkets across the U.S. A large number of the stores are located across Arizona, California, Colorado, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia, and Washington. Closing times for the bulk of Safeway stores vary as some will close as early as 9 pm while others will close as late as 2 am.
But there are numerous Safeway stores across the states, particularly in California, Virginia, Washington, Nevada, Maryland, and others that do operate 24 hours. You can go to the official site and choose the Safeway locations option to check for 24-hour stores near you.
WinCo Foods: American Supermarket Chain
This popular supermarket chain has 138 stores across Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Washington. The vast majority of WinCo Foods stores are open 24 hours a day. You can find a store near you through the WinCo store locator feature on the site.
Cub: American Supermarket Chain
Cub, originally Cub Foods, has 106 locations across Minnesota and Illinois. A few of the stores run from 8 am to 10 pm and a couple of others run from 5 am to midnight. But most Cub stores never close. You can use the ‘Find a Store’ option on the Cub website to find the nearest 24-hour Cub store.
Woodman’s Markets: American Supermarket Chain
Most of Woodman’s 19 grocery stores across Wisconsin and Illinois are open 24 hours, 7 days a week. If you have a Woodman’s store nearby, you can get all the essentials and more. They carry just about everything including liquor, cosmetics, pet food, etc. You can use the Woodman’s site to find your store.
While almost all other grocery stores nationwide close by midnight or earlier, there are the few odd big-brand stores that still stay open 24 hours including two Vons stores in Burbank California, two Jewel-Osco stores in Illinois, and a Sherm’s Food 4 Less store in Medford, Oregon.

Oftentimes, it can be a challenge for many to reach a pharmacy during open hours for one reason or another. We can never really predict when we might come down with sickness or a medical need. Luckily, some pharmacies do stay open round the clock, allowing us access to medication when needed.
CVS: Pharmacy & Retail Store
CVS offers everything including prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, drugs, beauty and cosmetics products, groceries, toys, prints and passport photos, and general merchandise. While Carl’s Jr isn’t as big as some of the multinational brands, they are still very popular. Hardee’s: American Fast Food Restaurant Chain
You’ll instantly notice the brand similarity between Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. Both restaurants are owned by the same fast food corporation. Get your breakfast, lunch, or dinner whenever you want it at Jack in the Box. There are 2,169 stores across 21 states, with the bulk of them in California, Texas, Arizona, and Washington. Many locations offer drive-thru, carryout, and delivery 24/7. And they have some of the biggest, juiciest burgers in town.
Whataburger: American Fast Food Restaurant Chain
This is burger heaven for the burger lover! Whataburger offers a whole lot of juicy beef burgers including the triple meat Whataburger for real meat lovers. You can also enjoy the breakfast burger, biscuit sandwich, egg and cheese biscuit, and other delicious items on the menu.
Whataburger has 934 stores in 14 states with nearly 80% of locations in Texas. All stores are open 24 hours although breakfast is only available from 11 pm to 11 am. Traditional breakfast items are also available including bacon and eggs with a buttermilk biscuit and a side of hash brown sticks plus a coffee.
Waffle House: Breakfast Food Restaurant Chain
Few places can serve as delicious a breakfast as Waffle House. But don’t let the name fool you. On top of great waffles and the classic breakfast items you’d expect, they also offer beef burgers, steaks, hash brown bowls, and more. Many stores among the 1,971 locations nationwide are open 24/7.
